What is core sampling?
Core sampling is the action which gives you information about which resources are beneath the surface of an asteroid. Once a lot is sampled you can then load a Core Sample into your Extractor and begin mining.
Requirements/Prerequisites
- An active crew
- An accessible lot
- Testnet ETH (aka GoETH) (it’s free) in your account to complete the action.
How to Core Sample
- ACQUIRE CORE SAMPLERS: (NOT necessary in testnet)
- NOTE: Within the testnet you will have unlimited Core Samplers at your disposal. In the full launch of the game this item will need to be crafted from a variety of resources. For phase 3 testing nothing is needed to acquire them.
Finding a lot to sample
Finding a lot to sample
- FIND a lot to sample
- RESOURCE MAP: To find a lot to Core Sample utilize the resource heatmaps and identify the resource you want to sample.
- The resource heatmaps are found by using “Resource View”, which is the topmost tab on the bottom left side of the screen, which appears once you zoom into an asteroid which has been scanned (or Adalia Prime).
- The resource heatmaps are also available by selecting the “Composition” tab within the “Details” window of a scanned asteroid (or Adalia Prime).
- If you have not yet purchased and scanned an asteroid, you can choose any of the available lots on Adalia Prime.
- SELECT a lot to sample: In order to view the lots, you will need to zoom in to the surface of the asteroid. Each lot is marked as a hexagon with a dot in the middle. Simply click on a lot to select it.
