What is an asteroid?

Within Influence, Asteroids serve as your land in-game. They will allow you to build infrastructure and participate in the ever-changing and growing universe within Influence. Adalia is made up of 250,000 asteroids, each with a unique composition of resources, and varying attributes that allow it to produce a unique play experience for the owner of the land.

<aside> 💡 NOTE: There are many different strategic and tactical factors that can be considered when purchasing an asteroid, and some in-depth information can be found HERE. However, within the testnet these factors are not very important, so until you are more knowledgeable about the game, don’t worry about which asteroid to “purchase” in this phase of the testnet.

Requirements/Prerequisites

• Testnet ETH (aka GoETH) (it’s free) in your account to complete the action
• Being logged into your account

<aside> 💡 NOTE: There are limited asteroids available for minting during our test phases, this is to ensure we have more during future rounds. PLEASE ONLY MINT ONE. We may deduct rewards from users who mint large amounts, as this prevents others from participating in scanning asteroids.

How to mint asteroids

• FILTER: Navigate to the “Map” tab on the bottom of the screen and select “Filters”
  • Using the Filters tab you can search for asteroids using different parameters such as: radius, spectral type, ownership, etc.
  • TIP* When “purchasing” asteroids the price is determined by the size, ie. the larger the asteroid, the greater its cost. In the testnet this is free, but you will still need the correct amount of test credits (GoETH). It is strongly recommended that you filter for asteroids with a radius of less than 2000, so that you do not attempt to purchase larger asteroids, which require larger amounts of test credits.
• SELECT: Select an asteroid that is unowned by clicking on one of the dots on the map
• PURCHASE: Underneath the asteroid’s name in the right-hand panel, click on the “Details” button
  • In the “Details” window click the “Purchase” button to purchase the asteroid
  • CONFIRM / ACCEPT: Your testnet wallet (Cartridge / Argent X / Braavos) should prompt you to confirm/accept this transaction in the top right corner of your screen. You MUST do this to complete this action.
• NAME: Once you own an asteroid, you will be able to re-name it and scan it within the “Details” window
